Message from Florin to the attendees
Hello!
Thank you for signing up to the Ultimate Practical AI workshop at GoLab!
Here are a few important things to know before you attend the workshop tomorrow.
1. Do not worry if you cannot run everything in class. We will build a repository together that you can access later at your own pace.
2. A Frontier Model subscription is preferred. This can be Claude, Codex, AMP, or any other provider you prefer. The $20/month subscription may be enough, but we'll put the model through its paces.
3. If you can run a local model (e.g., have a MacBook with 64 GB RAM or more), you can run Qwen 3.6 35B A3B MTP Q8 locally using Kronk, the Go inference server built by Bill, myself, Ron Evans, other open-source contributors. If you prefer another local model, that is fine. If you prefer another local model, that is fine. Just make sure you download it before arriving at the conference.
4. If model names/data looked like an alien language to you, know that by the end of the workshop, you will learn how to read and understand them.
5. This will be a pair-programming session where we will learn the ins and outs of working with models, building different examples, developing skills, and using existing tools to better deliver code that you own.
I would appreciate it if you share any questions or topics you want to learn more about ahead of the workshop by replying to this e-mail.You can also write me any time after the workshop or find me during the conference day at the ArdanLabs booth or roaming around the conference. If I don't know the answer, I'll do my best to find someone who can help you.
Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop.
