Abstract
A "practical experience" talk on how we slowly converted several test suites scattered in different repositories in a productized container that allows customer to validate the deployment of their platform. We don’t always work on SaaS applications. One example is the rapid growth of kubernetes clusters in edge scenarios, where the workloads in those environments require extensive testing. On top of that, clusters in far edge locations are small in size, but large in numbers, and deployed and managed on site by human operators. To make things more difficult, some of the most complex and mission-critical deployments also don’t have internet access, so it’s not immediately apparent how to test them. Having a way to validate on-premise deployments and report feedback back to us saves us time and reduces mistakes during the deployment phase.
